This is just a test write-up for the blog, but I will go ahead and share the trip plan.Drive from KC to Badlands/Mt. Rushmore to Glacier National Park and then either back south through Yellowstone/Grand Tetons or over to Portland (don't ask why) but then down to Niwot, CO and finally back home in KC.
A lot of this is playing it by ear.

If you haven't already blown through the badlands. Take the time to take a hike or two. There is a short trail on the East end called the Notch Trail. Nice view. When you come back down take the wall ladder freehand face first. Thats how I do it and everyone thinks I am nuts. There is also a trail along the northern spine that is worth doing if you have the time. You will have a whole different view of the badland area.
ReplyDeleteIf you stop at Devils Tower take the lower circular trail. Not the one around the base. Also a very nice hike.
